The main couple in the show "Breaking Bad" has a large granny square blanket on the back of their couch.

I noticed that, too. The new season starts March 21. :cheer

Also, if you watch Mad Men, there's a crocheted afghan on the sofa in the TV room where Don and Betty Draper live.

Season starts March 21 instead of March 31

It is a great show, and I love seeing crocheted items on tv.

Anyone remember the blanket on the back of Roseanne's couch? I loved that one. It was a medallion style afghan.

I found a picture of the Breaking Bad afghan and it looks like a basic granny square one. I found a similar pattern with that name for free on Crochet Pattern Central.

Crochet Pattern Central? Ok, I'll look for that. Thanks so much!

I remember that blanket from Roseanne! I might be interested in making that one too lol :)

I'm having a little bit of trouble finding the pattern on the Crochet Pattern Central website. Do you happen to know the link for it?

Under afghans. Pattern is called Classic Granny Square Blanket. Since it is on someone's blog I'm not sure if I should post the link. I should have been more specific about the name. I'm thinking this pattern will get you a similar blanket to the Breaking Bad one if you change colors and make the starting square bigger and do more rounds. Hope this helps.
