I am looking for a quick beginner and some-what easy doily pattern to make for Christmas gifts.

I am a huge fan of Priscilla Hewitt designs. Her patterns are very easy to read and her doily's work up very easily and would be great for a beginner.

You can find her free patterns here at her new website. Please be sure to look at CPC there are tons of doilies there also.

Most of these patterns on this site are fairly easy, and nicely sized for gifts (8-10" or so). (The Trish doily is probably the most difficult).
