Yay!:lol This is a pattern I made myself, and is quite easy.:D The only stitch you need to know is single crochet. It will be made in 2 pieces, a back and front sewn together. Let me know of any problems!:crocheting

Materials:
ww yarn in 2 colors ( I used orange and yellow, I'll call them C1 and C2)
f hook
large button (mine was approx 3/4 of an inch large)

Back
C1
1) ch 13, sc in 2nd st from hook, turn
2) sc 13,
3) sc in 2nd st from hook
Change colors, C2
4-24) repeat rows 2 and 3, changing colors every 3 rows
FO, leave a long tail for sewing
:cheerTada! That is the back.

Front
The front is a bit tricky, cuz you need to crochet around the screen and scrolly circle.

C1
1)ch 15 turn
2) sc 15
3-8)sc 2, ch1,turn, sc 2, ch 1
9) sc 2, ch 13
By now, you should see 3 sides of the screen, the top, left, and bottom. We are going to crochet up st 12 and 13 from row 9, to form the 4th side.
Repeat 3-8 going up. You will end up with 4 sides of the case, the right one not connected tio the top. Finish off, leaving a long tail. This right side of the case will be sewn on later.

Go back to the last row (9).
10) sc 6, ch1, turn
11) sc 6
12) sc 5, ch1 turn
13) sc 5
14-16) repeat rows 12 and 13
17-18) repeat rows 10 and 11
19) sc 7, ch 8

This part will be exactly like above, working the crochet up. Repeat rows 18 thru 10 backwards. Then, you will have 4 sides of the circle, the right one not connected to row 9. FO, and leave a long tail for sewing.

strap:
ch 17, FO leave long tail for sewing.

Assembly:

Sew the back to the front, using the ww yarn, sew the sides first.
Then take ww yarn and sew the tops together loosely!:hook You need to be able to see the stitches that you sew.Weave the ends in. The bottom should still be open. Take the strap, sew one end of it on the right side of the front piece, next to the hole for the ipod. Thake the other end and sew it on the left side of the hole for ipod. Then, stretch the strap over the back to see how far it goes; sew a button there. The finished resulst showld be the case, with a large rectangular hole for the screen, and circle holwe for the menu buttons on the ipod, and a strap on the bottom to close it and secure the ipod inside.

Tada! You are done. :cheer:cheer

Thanks for the pattern Annie!! Can't wait to try it. I'll have to make one for my sisters boyfriend (and one for my sister too cause she is always using his ipod.)

oh, CroJulee, I edited the pattern. When I was writing it, I must have been scatterbrained because I don't know what a "crab apple single crochet" is.

sorry for the late reply, the front part...
like the screen or the menu buttons?
if it is the screen, i fixed it by tying ribbons at the edges in the corners to tighten the stuff.

as for the menu button hole...hmm. i dunno either:lol
but, maybe u can modify it to how you like it. this pattern was a, i don't know, a one that is my first and bad-ish one. so it's probably not too good.
