Mr Wotsit - Skill level Intermediate
Please read the pattern BEFORE starting to avoid confusion
Mr Wotsit doesn’t stand up, you may be able to use pellets to get him to stand, go on I challenge you ;)
8ply yarn -light worsted….you can use any thickness, just adjust the hook to get tight stitches
I am not sure how much yarn I used but you can easily make 2 out of 100 gm ball
3.5mm hook or hook for tight stitches
Stuffing
7mm eyes
Embroidery cotton or yarn for mouth and nose
Yarn needle
Optional - felt for embellishment
Stitch markers - scrap bits of yarn
Stitches used:
Chain - ch
Single - Crochet sc
Slip stitch- sl st
Single Crochet - increase sc inc
Single Crochet - decrease sc dec
Each - ea
Use a stitch marker to keep track of the end of each row
Body - do not join work in rounds
Row 1: Ch 2, 6 sc in 1st ch - 12sc
Row 2: 2 sc in ea sc -12 sc
Row 3: 1 sc in next sc, Inc in next sc, repeat around -18 sc
Row 4: 1 sc in next 2 sc, Inc in next sc, repeat around -24 sc
Row 5: 1 sc in next 3 sc, Inc in next sc, repeat around -30 sc
Row 6 - 13: 1 sc in ea sc -
How you going with it ??
The next part is making the front of Mr Wotsit and the narrowing of the chest part of the body J
Please read the next part of the pattern before continuing
To help you keep track of where you are, place a marker in the stitch you are on now and then place a marker 26 stitches around. You will sc in each of the next 26 sc until you get to the other marker and then gradually decreasing in the other stitches s left on the row. Leave the stitch markers there until you get to the end of the body
As you go around the gaps between the stitch markers will get smaller
Row 14 -18: 1 sc in the next 26 sc (until the marker) *1 sc in next 2 sc, dec repeat from *
*Stuff the body as yo go
Row 19: dec 5 times evenly around the round
Row 20: dec 4 times evenly around the round
Row 21: dec 3 times evenly around the round
Row 22: dec 2 times evenly around the round
Row 23- 40:1 sc in each sc FO
Head
You are starting with the front of the face
Row 1: Ch 2, 6 sc in 1st ch
Row 2: 2 sc in ea sc - 12sc
Row 3: 1 sc in next sc, inc, repeat around -18 sc
Row 4: 1 sc in next 2 sc, inc, repeat around - 20 sc

Stuff head as the opening gets smaller
Row 12: 1 sc in next 2sc, dec - 15 sc

He's awesome! I think he would make a great baby gift. His neck seems to be perfect size for little hands! I would just embroider the eyes too!

I could see a rattle stuffed in either his head or his bottom for a baby! Snag an old rattle from goodwill or make one! Neat idea!:clap

He is soooo cute. I'm going to use pellets you put in dolls etc... and see if that works. If all else fails, I use him on a spring wreath.
