I have, for my daughters rats who like crocheted hammocks to sleep in. Guess that makes them my grandrats!:rofl

Here are the requested pictures of the rats playing with the balls I crocheted for them.

That is absolutely precious. Rats are such intelligent pets, and very sweet.

adorable! Rats are just so clever and personable! I'd worry about them chewing it up, but not a problem if it's organic yarn (rather than synthetic)...

That is Crazy! I love it! When my boys were young they all had pet rats! We had 6 of them over the years ( 2 at a time) And they were the best pets for kids ever! I never thought of making them beds!!!! LOL LOL! Way cool!

How about his nails? They don't get stuck in the yarn?
I don't own rats, but we have our own mini-zoo going on..... a chinchilla, hedgehogs, hermit crabs, dwarf hamsters, guinea pigs, a green cheeked (mexican red headed) amazon parrot, a nanday conure, parakeets, cockatiels, zebra finches, and a lovebird. That's not including the 3 cats, 4 dogs (one is an outside dog), our various fish tanks, my 4 kids, and my husband LOL
Getting back on topic here - My chinchilla has a hammock and chews on it. I have wanted to make him one, but I would be afraid of him chewing it up and his nails getting stuck. Some birds also enjoy a cozy fabric house to sleep in too.
