I made a hand bag using a the thermal stitch I learned while making a hat using someone elses pattern. Even through the type of stitch isnt original would the purse I made using that stitch be????

I'm not an expert, but I think it would be considered an original pattern. There are many different stitches, and they don't seem to be copyrighted.

I agree. No one owns the right to a stitch so if you create your own design but happen to use a stitch seen elsewhere thats still your design.

So I have no clue, its almost like a cultral thing on what the stitch was called that area called it before. because I have seen some that I have said right away..ohh mom never called it that.
so ???
