I am in the midst of trying to finish my Christmas items for my family and this year I want to make a bunch of funky hats! I have already made a couple but am having a hard time tracking down patterns for unusual hats. I have scoured CPC and most of my Crochet Mags and all of the ones I know I've seen are eluding me at the moment. If you have any links I'd greatly appreciate it.

I'd prefer free (wouldn't we all :devil) but I'll pay if it's really cool looking! THANKS!!!

There are two I have found recently. One is different but still rather "normal". The other one is just out there, LOL! I haven't done either of them yet.

You might make a "magic ball" of yarn. Just tie scraps together leaving ends as long as you choose. Crochet a simple beanie style hat and have the yarn ends on the outside (or inside for a less wild hat). Alice

Have you checked out the Flying Spaghetti Monster Hat at CPC? My DS (5) has begged me for one.... he's "OUT THERE", too. At age 5, he believes he has "another" father that lives on Mars.

:think Now WHERE did he come from?

My sister will love those hats. I wonder how many I could get made for her before Christmas???? She lives in Alaska, so she would get some use out of them. I think the Spg monster one is the cutest!!!
Thanks for sharing the patterns
