It means that you put your hook in the next stitch and yarn over and draw up a loop then you do the same in the next 2 stitches.
You will have 4 loops on your hook then yarn over and draw through all 4 loops on you hook .
Hope this helps.

Hi SeaShelly!

If I could just expand on corky's reply a bit. . .

What corky has said would give you an sc decrease, but since you are working in dc, I think you'd want the decrease to be in dc also.

So what you do is, start a dc in the first of the 3 stitches, but only work up to the point where you have 2 loops left on your hook. That is, you'd do a yarn over, insert hook in stitch, yo, pull up a loop, yo and pull through 2 loops. Stop there; now do the same thing in each of the next 2 stitches. You should now have 4 loops on your hook; yo and pull through all 4 loops.

Let us know how you get on!

Smiles,

Check out this Annie's Attic page http://www.anniesatt....html?type_id=S . It's where I go whenever I have problems with a stitch. It had video for most stitches too, which is awesome!!!
