So tonight when I got a PM from Lene about her swap starting next month I thought to look at the schedule and see when my next one was. I totally forgot! That's what going back to work will do to you; I have lost my mind! :oops

In any case, here we go, the summer scarf swap. Be creative, be crafty, make light and airy, skinny little scarves for each other. Now, go:

Basic guidelines for the Crochetville Summer Scarf Swap:

1. Please complete the Summer Scarf Swap survey no later than March 31st. This swap is limited to 35 members, so when the magic number 35 or the end of the sign-up period is reached, the swap will be closed to new members. I'm going to close sign-up for this swap sometime Monday evening so I can have time to sort through the information and get it sent back out by Friday (hopefully). That should get us over 35 members at the rate people are signing up now, and I don't want to leave anyone out if I can help it.

2. Exchanges will last approximately 45 days, so you will have nearly two full months to mail items to your assignments. When you sign up for this or any other swap, you are making a commitment to fulfill this obligation. I take this obligation very seriously and hope you do too.

3. Names will be drawn and assigned at random; there is no guarantee that the person for whom you are making a summer scarf will be assigned to make a summer scarf for you in return. You will know who is making your summer scarf.

4.This swap runs from April 1st through May 15th. This means the summer scarves should be in the mail no later than May 15th in order to arrive at their destination by May 31st. A list will be posted on the board with the names of people who did not send a summer scarf to their swap partners and they will be prohibited from participating in future swaps.

5. E-mail the coordinator, Julie, at julie[at]withahook.com when you send or receive a package so that she can update your record. Please please please please please!

6. Thank you’s are a requirement, and can be sent via e-mail, e-card, or postal mail, and of course posted here at Crochetville. I ask that everyone remember that what they receive took time to make and the sender really should be thanked. The sender would also like to know their package arrived safely, so please get in touch with them somehow.

7. Place “Crochetville Swap” somewhere on your package so that the recipient can jump in excitement when it arrives.

8. Since we are an international group and everyone is more than welcome to participate, that means that someone in your swap group may live across the world. When you sign up for a swap, I will ask you if you can ship overseas.

9. Most importantly – have fun!

Click here to fill out the survey. Results will be emailed to me instantly. I will update the list on this first post when I get the emails (and when I'm home from work, so don't panic if there is a delay in seeing your name on the list :P).

Have a button (okay, so it's last year's swap button but I still think it's cute.) The usual stuff - save it to your computer, use your hosting service to display it on your blog if you have a blog and want to display it. Thanks!

I'm in! My poor neck and shoulder don't like a/c or drafts, so even in the heat of summer I need a little something to keep them flexible.
HELP! I'm drowning in yarn; but what a way to go!...send in HOOKS!

Wowee! Time for another swap! This ones right up my alley as we only wear dressy scarves not warm ones. Can't wait! I also love to make these things!

If you're looking for patterns, the first place you want to check is CPC.

Now I'm off to look at all the wonderful summery scarf patterns I can find!

The last question said can you call on you to make a replacement scarf?

Did this mean if another particpant needs to bail out of the swap you would ask them to make an additional scarf?

Oh boy! I sent my survey! I have started the shawl for my Shawl Swap so I reckon it's time to join another! I even know what pattern I am gonna use! Woo Hoo! This is so fun!

EDIT: Yes, I believe that's what it means, if somebody can't make an item, would you be able to make an extra so that nobody gets left out.

Yes, but hopefully it won't be needed. It isn't a requirement for anyone to make a replacement scarf, but this way I know better who to ask for help if there is more than I can handle myself. Right now I only have about 5 people who said no and the rest have said yes, so we should be more than covered. Thanks everyone!! :clap
