I tried to do it the way the instructions said but it is not turning out as big as it shows it in the picture. Can anyone help me with this.

I know it's single crochet but in the picture it shows that cable twist row to be bigger than it's coming out for me.

The fp stitch is front post double crochet, i believe, not sc.

Would that double crochet for the fp be for the 2 fp stitches that are in rows 4, 8 and 12 also besides the cable twist fp?

yes, if you look at the stitch guide on the second to last page the fp is dc.  pattern says "Row 4: Ch 1, sc in first 4 sts, front post (fp, see back cover) "  don't know why it says back cover, maybe it was in leaflet form at one time, but anyway it is the second to  last page of the pdf that the stitch guide is on.  

 

Patterns often have stitch information (and other things you need to know) either at the beginning or end of the pattern itself, so always a good idea to look there.  Books and magazines also often place the overall stitch etc info at front or back of the publication.

Sorry another question just to clarify. So when I do the cable twist should I go down 2 rows to the fp's I made in that row and do the cable twist using those fp's? And by the way thank you for all your help

if the last fp is two rows below, and it says to fp in the fp, then yes.
