Does anyone have a cute baby poncho pattern that doesn't have a hood?

I want one with a loose pattern and suggest what kind of yarn to use.

Thank you!!

I just finished the Lionbrand 'coming home' poncho for my daughter, it was soo easy, (I just ran out of yarn that I bought years ago to do the scalloped edge.)
I am making some flowers to decorate it.
You could probably adjust the size to fit a baby.

Hope the link works! :)

I just made this one for my granddaughter who is 2. But there is a whole range of sizes, and it's a great pattern.

I have made several from this pattern. I love this pattern and you can be so creative with what you do with this and the color combos as well. Good luck and have fun if you try this.

Those are great little poncho patterns! Thank you Aggie May!! I saved them to my Baby Things file and will probably be adding them to my list very soon. One of the family's new babies this year is bound to be a girl! 2 boys so far but 2 to go! :)

This one looks sort of like the Coming Home -- it is done in Homespun like the Coming Home Poncho but doesn't have the scalloped edging. http://www.lionbrand...ns/L0078AD.html

This one does have the scalloped trim and also looks like the Coming Home one: http://www.ravelry.c...rochet-poncho-2

This one is pretty: http://www.ravelry.c...rocheted-poncho

And these two look super quick and easy: http://www.ravelry.c...-poncho-crochet

Laceangel,

What kind/size yarn did you use for your poncho? And how far down the arm did the "sleeves" go?

thanks,
Kelly

I used Bernat baby yarn with an H hook. It's easy to make the sleeves any length.

Here's a link to my Ravelry page about it:

Hi Laceangel,

Thanks so much for responding so quick! :) I'm trying to decide between this poncho and the one by http://www.lemondede...-and-pattern-d/ ( I hope I can post that) ...anyway..

I thought this one would be good b/c it will likely stay on better.. it's for a 1 year old.. but our weather is fairly unpredictable sometimes so I think Mom would like it better if it had longer sleeves. And I want it to be a little big so that she can wear it again next spring. I have the perfect Caron Simply Soft... do you think that might work w/ a smaller needle? And I crochet fairly tight. And would you mind sharing w/ me how to make the sleeves longer? I've been crocheting for over half my life now.. but figuring out patterns on my own or reconfiguring them is totally not in the cards for me! Unfortunately :(

thanks so much for your help... I need to have this done b/f the 23rd of THIS month for her b'day! I know.. I didn't leave myself much time.. but Mom just mentioned that she'd like a poncho for her!

thanks again,
Kelly
