When she was eight, her future sister-in-law taught her how to use a hook and yarn, and thus began a lifelong crochet adventure.

Although she learned the basics of crochet from her third-grade teacher, Amy’s mother and grandmother, longtime crocheters themselves, helped Amy expand her skills. She has been happily crocheting, left-handed, for over 30 years. Her right-handed daughter also crochets. Amy feels a strong sense of connection to family and community through crochet.
